To help promote Columbia’s new Omni-Heat Infinity jacket Archrock, I was tasked with developing an Experience Zone for the Employee Store. These Experience Zones are an opportunity for customers to feel excited about Columbia and enthusiastically connect with products.

The chosen concept was a tech focused direction that honed in on visually expressing how Omni-Heat Infinity worked in action. I was inspired by the idea of using a heat camera and allowing customers to interact with Omni-Heat Infinity in a truly unique way, by seeing how heat is trapped inside of the jacket it would give customers that instant visual engaging moment. This would also simply be fun for customers to see themselves on a heat camera.

This was the first time a heat camera was ever used in a store experience.

The final layout consisted of longer racks to hold more product, initially a projector was going to be used with the heat camera but due to store lighting we swapped for a large 77” tv which ended up feeling like the better option.

Omni-Heat fabric backers were added using actual jacket fabric so costumers could interact with the material and add a pop of gold color to the experience.

We also opted to have the snow glow along the base to give a cool lighting effect, but not too bright so it didn’t distract from the heat camera.
